National Popcorn Day!

Have you ever made fresh popcorn before? Well why not try it today for National Popcorn Day? Take out your favorite movie, make some hot popcorn, and enjoy the night. It’s simple and just two ingredients. Make sure you are in charge of this cooking activity and have your little ones be careful around the heat on the stove.

Stove Top Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp of Cooking oil (vegetable or canola oil is best)
  • 1/2 cup of Popcorn kernels

Directions:

Measure out the ingredients.

Place kernels in pan.

Place oil on top of kernels in pan. Turn burner on high heat.

Cover pan with lid. Wait and listen.

As the kernels start to pop…

Watch closely (leave lid on).

When the popping stops, carefully pour popcorn in heat friendly bowl. Add salt or other seasoning based on preference.

Let cool. Then enjoy!

Once you try fresh popcorn, you won’t buy store bought again. Try the recipe and be the judge for yourself. Share your treats with us on Instagram or Facebook with hashtag: #liliguanafun
